Virtua Tennis 4

Game number 23 of 52 in the bag as week 18 starts, quite happy with my progress thus far.

After spending around 30 odd hours playing Top Spin 4 i was really looking forward to trying out the next big Tennis game in Virtua Tennis 4.

I was however pretty disappointed, where Top Spin goes for Realism and the practice sessions are actually practice matches etc instead of virtua tennis' stupid moving walls, bombs and footballs.

The range of shots on Top Spin also outshines Virtua Tennis which seems very limited with drop shots being really stupid to get right and lob shots being almost impossible to get over the player without them getting to... which is another issue, if there was a player who could get across court to the ball as easily as the guys do on Virtua Tennis they would be giving Nadal et al a real tanking every week. i don't think i managed more than around a 10 shot rally on Top Spin yet without trying i easily picked up the Rally trophy on virtua tennis for a 30 shot rally, not something that was any fun.

The menu system and way you work around the World Tour is horrible, Sega really need to look at what Top Spin done in this way to get something that works and doesn't frustrate.

Ratings wise the graphics are amazing but the game fails so a very poor 4/10 unfortuanately.
